Character Classes



Character classes are largely copies of the Castle and Crusaders classes.  A few are modifications.

The Character classes presented here are the generic classes.  I have the broad limitations for playing these classes in the Paksenarrion world.  In some cases, the class details remain the same but the character needs to belong to a specific group which will be indicated. Additional details will be presented on my Paksenarrion campaign world website.  For those players familiar with that world, the campaign will take place in Prealith (which is a neighbouring realm to where the stories take place).  There will be heavy influence from Elizabeth Moon's work - but Prealith is almost completely a blank canvas. 


Classes:
Follow the "Class Details" links for the specific details, skills, etc. of the general class.
Note the "Possible limitations or conditions". These either limit which group the character can belong to or impose a condition that differs from the generic class write up. 
     Note: These conditions are designed not to restrict the player, but to give his/her character a firm connection to the world with a rich background and to avoid complications faced by members of that class who do not have those conditions...  Race limitations will be added.  Presently expect human for all classes. 


Class Details          Possible Limitations and/or Conditions in Paks World


Assassin      As per the class with modifications. See Paks world for White Rose faction. 
Barbarian      As per the class except cannot swim. See Paks world for Ridgeway Highlanders. 
Bard - Low   Bard character class with more interpersonal skills and rogue skills
Bard - High  Bard character class with more interpersonal skills and bard magic skills

Cleric            All Clerics' powers & limitations will be adjusted for the primary god they worship (see                                  Paks World site). They will roughly balance to the generic Cleric.
Druid           Human Druids are known as Kuakgan (powers adjusted). Elvish Druids as per class.        
Fighter        As per the class. 
Illusionist    As per the class.  See Paks world site for factions, training, etc.
Knight        See Paks world site for knightly orders with any change from generic knight class. 
Monk          
Heavily revised. A brawler deadly with quarterstaff and improvised weapons. Teacher and champion of                             the common folk. See Paks world for specific order. 
Paladin      As per the class with slight modifications for each Paladin order.  See Paks world site.
Ranger      As per the class with modifications.  See Paks world site for Ranger units. 

Rogue         As per the class.  See Paks world site for guild information, etc.
Wizard         As per the class.  See Paks world site for factions, training, etc.


Multi-class:  Certain combinations are allowed for certain races.   See this page for the list and details.
